Description

Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie - Small - Adult - Male - Dog - William

9/27/09 Update. Hard to tell Wee Willy was ever hit by a car. He races around the back yard, chasing two of his much larger young canine foster siblings. He is fearless as he barks at them for not playing with him! He is still a finicky eater, but we are working on finding a food he consistentlylikes. His foster Mom thinks it is all a game to get more attention, because when he is really hungry, he can be found munching on the big dogs leftover dry dog food. 8/29 update Wee Willy is using his back leg more and more. It is somewhat weak at this point from lack of use, but he is putting weight on it and using it to push off to go up the stairs. He has become much more relaxed and happy at home and now is talking to his foster Mom. If she is eating, he chirps and lets her know that he too loves food. And he does love food. Although he is finicky about what food he eats, once you find something he likes he leaps to take it from you. No surprise, the poor little man was so thin you could feel every rib and backbone. I am pleased to say that he is putting on some weight with regular feedings and lots of love.. William Wallace has been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for heartworm and is up to date on shots. He weighed in at 7 pounds prior to his surgery, He does have a slight heart murmer, about 1 to2 on a scale of 6, but shows no signs of heart trouble. Sir William Wallace (aka Wee Willy) is a braveheart. Alone on the streets, he had a run in with a car. Despite his tiny size, he escaped with some bumps and bruises, a skinned nose, and a gimpy hind leg. No one showed up to claim him as he patiently waited at the shelter. When Miracles With Paws heard of his plight, we immediately ofered to take him in. Wally is about 5 years old. He needs a bath and grooming, but these can wait until he feels better. We can see the beautiful little man under that hair! Wally is favoring his back leg and the vet has advised that he remain on cage rest for a couple of weeks. So, he snoozes in his cage and comes out for some kisses and lap time with his foster Mom. Despite the fact that he doesn't feel his best, and he is tiny, he met all of his new foster canine siblings bravely and seemed happy to be home. Adoption fee $250
